National Recognition

According to the Law of the Republic of Kazakhstan "On Education", the recognition of national and foreign accreditation body is a procedure for official confirmation of the authority of a legal entity to conduct institutional accreditation of educational organizations and specialized accreditation of educational programs.

The register of recognized accreditation bodies (Register 1) is a list of accreditation bodies that are full members of international European networks for education quality assurance, recognized on the territory of the Republic of Kazakhstan as an authorized body for institutional and specialized accreditation. The recognition of the accreditation body and its inclusion to the Registry 1 is to be confirmed once every five years.

By the decision of the Republican Accreditation Council, the ARQA Agency is included in the Register 1 of recognized accreditation bodies for a period of five years. On the basis of the decision of the Republican Accreditation Council, the Order of the Minister of Education and Science of the Republic of Kazakhstan dated September 27, 2017. №482 was issued on the recognition of accreditation bodies and inclusion in the Registry 1 for a period of five years.

International Recognition

The International Network for Quality Assurance Agencies in Higher Education (INQAAHE) was founded in 1991 and today has more than 270 members. INQAAHE is one of the most recognized organizations dedicated to the theory and practice of the quality assurance of higher education in the world.

INQAAHE implements:

Assisting quality assurance agencies in sharing information and experiences;

Development of theoretical and practical foundations of professions;

Development and promotion of standards of professional practice in quality assurance;

Encouraging and assisting the continious improvement of the activities of the INQAAHE member agencies, including professional development and capacity building for universities, students and society.

INQAAHE has three types of membership: full, associate and affiliated. Full members are orgranizations responsible for assessing the quality of universities or educational programs (accreditation agencies; agencies that conduct assessments and similar organizations; bodies involved in the recognition of accreditation agencies). ARQA acquired the status of a full member of INQAAHE on May 24, 2017. The INQAAHE website has a full list of network members, which also includes the ARQA Agency.
